Lottie Hop is a website and store dedicated to providing you with the super cute, fun, crafty, unique, stuff that I, Brenna Hopkins, make with my own two hands (snap!). For the time being my range consists of baby octopus creatures made with vintage and antique elements, perfect for your cubicle army. You can order them as they are, or in an array of characters I am working on at the moment. Currently available characters include Borghild the Valkyrie, Albert Einstein, and Dr. Who (worked on with the lovely miss Lindsay from Rae Wolf Designs)
I also do a small line of accessories made featuring buttons I’ve collected from the Victorian Era and beyond. Edwardian and Victorian pieces are featured heavily, as are fun examples from the 1930′s through the 1960′s. Lace, appliques, wire, chain and found stones and glass are also featured. These pieces work well for every day wear if you like something a bit unusual, and they are especially wonderful for costumes or bridal wear. Let me provide you with something unique and special!
Recently I’ve added a range of specialty blended whole leaf teas to my shop! Oc-Tea-Pus Blends Teas are made with a percentage of fair trade and organic ingredients, and are delicious hot or cold. Order them by the ounce, or more! Need bags to brew them in? Just ask! Oc-Tea-Pus Blends are meant to deepen the lore of the baby octopuses world I’ve created. New flavors will be added regularly. Check back often!
People often ask me where I get my materials, and I have to answer: from all over. But a great lot of them do come from local thrift stores. I love vintage and antique items, and I know everyone says that who has a “crafty person” blog, but I really do. I have my whole life, and there are tons of people out there who feel this same way. I relish the thrill of hunting for treasure at any thrift store, swap meet, yard sale, re-sale shop, over the task of buying new stuff. Mind you, I don’t cut that out (no worries, the tea is all fresh!); I just have more fun adopting things and giving them a new home, and I hope I can foster that interest and joy in you through my work. The fantastic thing about the way I source my materials is that when you buy items from me, you know you’re getting something unique. Because so much of what I use is often out of production it means you’re getting a very special piece. That goes for all of my baby octopuses, accessories and jewelry. You are also getting something with a story, something that’s lived a life before it’s come to you. You are part of the next chapter! How exciting! At least I think so.
