Happy Handmade Holidays Digest #1

 

Hi all!  I decided to do the digest for the Handmade Holidays event I created on Facebook as a monthly post on my blog for easier organization.  You will find the digest posted on the first of each month until December, at which point the digest will be released weekly up until Christmas.  Here’s a list of artists, vendors, craftsmen/women and craft shows we have so far since creating the event:

Craft Fairs and Shopping Events:

North Park Independent Bazar

When: Every Saturday from 1-6pm

Where: Queen Bee’s in North Park

San Diego Crafters for the Arts Pre-Holiday Bazaar

When: November 5 1-5pm

Where: San Diego Language Academy

The booth rentals collected from this event support the Music Program at the Language Academy.

San Diego Parent Family Swap Meet

When: Sunday October 9th from 9am to 1pm

Where: Canyon Crest Academy in Carmel Valley

Bijoux du Jour Jewelry

Handmade and designed by Elizabeth Smith.  Find her online or at arts and crafts shows in the Western Michigan area.

Paper Me Jewels

Jewelry, ornaments and ephemera hand crafted out of paper and hand painted by Wansena Spearman.  She is on Etsy, Facebook and is located in the San Diego area.

My Charming Colors

This is the Etsy shop of Jessica Judkins working out of the Fairfax, VA area.  She makes crocheted baby booties in cute and dare I say…charming?  colors :)   She just did a giveaway on her facebook and may have more coming up.  Also check out her blog at My Little Mustache.

Lisa’s Ribbons

Beautiful, simple, functional and personal ribbon bookmarks, memo boards and framed phrases by Lisa Spagnolo of the San Diego area.  Lisa can be found this season at the North Park Independent Bazar, The Holiday Hit List, and The Language Academy Pre-Holiday Bazaar and also online.  She’s doing a giveaway on her facebook right now!  Once Lisa’s Ribbons reaches 50 ‘Likes’ she’ll give away a free bead and charm embellished ribbon bookmark of your choice!  Keep it for yourself or, hey!  Give it to a friend or family member for the holidays :)

Inspirational pocket stones and personalized keepsake boxes.  She is located in Virginia and has a craft show coming up on September 10th at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church 8009 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria, VA from 9am to 3pm.  She just did a give away on her facebook and I know she has another one in the works.  Check her out!

Steam Crow

Amazing, quirky, fun art prints and so much more from Daniel and Dawna Davis of the Phoenix, Arizona area.  They are involved in several events throughout the year, so do check their website and facebook page for all the updates!  Their upcoming event is Zog’s Tiki Lounge Party at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix AZ!

Tosh Werks

I found these guys at Comic Con this year and they are so amazing.  Hand made crocheted home goods and toys (cacti, noby noby boy, Dia de los Muertos skulls etc.) Hand screened tees and onesies. Comics and lots more!  They are a local artistic collective.  No word yet on any of their upcoming appearances. 

Little Socks of Horror

What can I say about monsters made out of stuffed socks?  Um…they rule?!  You have to check this out.  Located in the U.K., but don’t let that stop you!  We want this event global don’t we??
